Reflections from Caminos past
Today, I’m sitting with a simple question:
What can I learn today?
It’s a question that has met me often on the Camino, especially in the quiet spaces—those long stretches of open path where all I could hear was the rhythm of my footsteps and the beating of my heart.
Some days, the answer is loud and clear.
One day earlier this year during a difficult medical procedure I heard the voice loud and clear. I said without any prompting,"I just want to be on the Camino."
Other days, it whispers and I have to be still to hear it, something I find difficult to do at home. But more and more, I find myself learning to trust the voice within. To believe that I already carry the wisdom I need. That I am not lost, I am just learning how to listen.
Today, I’m learning to:
Walk proud in the direction of my own becoming.
The yellow arrow will point me forward.
As you read this, I am in St. Jean Pied de Port, France at the start of yet another Camino. What an incredible blessing.
Wherever you are on your path, may you pause for a moment and ask—What can I learn today?
And may your answer lead you gently back to yourself.
🩵We are all pilgrims of the heart.🩵Let’s walk this path together.🩵
