Mary Baldree
Author of The Joyful Gypsy Gal
A journey of joy and courage guided by strong women.
In The Joyful Gypsy Gal, Mary Baldree reflects on the generations of strong women who shaped her life and the pilgrim path that called her forward.
It is a story of resilience, reflection, and the courage it takes to become who we are meant to be.
The book will be available soon. I look forward to sharing it with you.
Hey there, fellow traveler of life — I’m Mary!
Also known as The Joyful Gypsy Gal — part dreamer, part artist, full-time lover of beauty and brave beginnings.
I’m a quiet soul with a wild heart.
I find magic in sunrises, my soul in silence, and stories in the ordinary. Whether it’s a field of wildflowers, a heartfelt conversation, a splash of watercolor, or a favorite song on repeat — I believe life is layered with wonder when we pause long enough to feel it.
At 60 years old, I laced up my hiking shoes and did something I’d only dreamed of…
I became a pilgrim.
I walked over 550 miles on the Camino de Santiago from St. Jean Pied de Port, France to Santiago, Spain — and I didn’t stop there. I returned in 2024. And again in August of 2025.
Why?
Because something about walking day after day with just a backpack and a heart wide open changed me.
It helped me remember who I am. And who I’m becoming.
This blog is a big part of that becoming.
It’s a space for soul reflections, creative adventures, and deep breaths.
It’s for anyone who's ever wondered if there's something more — more joy, more purpose, more courage, more peace.
If that’s you, welcome. You’re in good company.
Let’s see where this dream takes us…
