The Power of Intention

Intentions are such beautiful things—well-meaning, heartfelt, and often lit like candles in the quiet corners of our minds. But I’ve learned that good intentions alone aren’t enough. They ask something more of us: attention, discipline, and follow-through.
I often set intentions for my health—working out daily, walking every day—because I know how good those things are for my body and mind. Yet, I’ve realized that I can’t just intend to do them; I have to schedule them. I treat them as appointments with myself, because they truly matter.🗓️
Other intentions aren’t as easily penciled into a planner. I intend to be kind, thoughtful, and patient. Those can’t be time-blocked, but they can be nurtured through awareness. By staying present, I can notice when I’m reacting instead of responding, when I’m rushing instead of listening, and gently guide myself back toward the person I intend to be.🩵
The red candles in my photo remind me of meditation and prayer—of quiet moments when we reconnect with what’s sacred inside us. I do schedule time to meditate, though I’ll admit it’s not always easy. My mind wanders, thoughts drift, and stillness doesn’t come easily. But that’s the beauty of it—and it’s called a practice for a reason.😊
Every day, I’m reminded that intention is the spark, but practice is the flame. One lights the way, and the other keeps it burning.🕯️
So today, I invite you to tend to your own flame. Set one small intention—something that feels right in your heart—and take a single, gentle step toward it. The more you practice, the brighter your light will shine, guiding not only your own path but those who walk beside you.
